An IME (Independent Medical Evaluation) is an evaluation completed by an independent medical physician who has no prior knowledge or interaction with the patient.
Client include attorneys, case managers, insurance companies, the federal government and individual patients.
IMEs can answer many questions regarding individual cases including causation; permanent impairment; permanent restrictions; ongoing treatment needs; and other issues.
After scheduling an IME, the IME physician will personally see and evaluate the patient. completing a thorough history and physical examination. All provided medical records will be reviewed and summarized. After the evaluation, a report will be generated and sent to the requesting party.

IME fees are typically based on the time (or anticipated time) spent reviewing medical records, interviewing and examining patients, answering questions including calculating impairments and preparing and dictating reports. Flat fees are base on the volume of medical records and number of questions asked. Please contact me for fees.
Report turnaround is dependent on transcription turnaround, typically 4-6 business days. Expedited reports are available with turnaround time of 24-48 hours.

I have completed many depositions and testified at live trial in several cases. Please contact me with requests for deposition and trial testimony given over the last 10 years.
Licenses include Iowa, 33896, Colorado, 54410, and Wisconsin, 63895-20.
I am trained in the American Medical Association's Guides the the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment 3rd edition Revised; the 5th edition; and the 6th edition. I am also familiar with and have used the Wisconsin Disabilty handbook.
My first IME was completed in 2005. Since then I have completed well over 1000 IMEs and as many chart reviews.
